Prayer List: Health Hazards at the 2016 Olympics

Health hazards abound at the 2016 Summer Olympics. The Boston Globe reports, “With up to half a million visitors set to descend on the city for the Games, keeping them healthy could be a big job. Officials are preparing to treat an estimated 20,000 people during the Games.”

Sex trafficking of young girls is also rampant along the BR-116 highway which passes near the Olympic village. According to The Daily Telegraph, “female children are sold for sex often by their own families” at the truck stops along the “Highway of Death”.

* Pray for the safety of athletes, media and fans gathering in Brazil for the 2016 Olympics — that they would not be infected by the Zika virus.
* Pray that God would be glorified through godly sportsmanship.
* Pray for Christians to be faithful witnesses at the Olympics.
* Pray for the salvation of sex workers in Brazil.
