Prayer List: 20,000 People Rescued in Louisiana Flooding

According to The Weather Channel, “The federal government declared a major disaster in Louisiana Sunday after torrential rain inundated the state killing at least six people, flooding thousands of homes and prompting thousands of water rescues.”

At a press conference Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards announced that 20,000 people have been rescued and shelters housed 10,000 people.

Southern Baptist disaster relief teams and individual churches have already started assisting in the recovery efforts.

Prayer List

* Pray for anyone still trapped in flood waters to be rescued.
* Pray for the rain to stop falling and for flood waters to recede.
* Pray for the Holy Spirit to comfort the families and friends of people that have died in the flooding.
* Pray for the spiritual, emotional and financial health of people whose homes, apartments and businesses were flooded.
* Pray for the safety of first responders and disaster relief volunteers.
* Pray for Christian disaster relief volunteers and chaplains to have opportunities to befriend and share the Gospel with flooding victims.
